Vehicle Sales Authority (VSA)

As one of the first examples in the province of a "Delegated Administrative Authority", the Vehicle Sales Authority represents an innovative and alternative approach to the administration of the Motor Dealer Act.

With consumer protection at the forefront, the MDC regulates more than 1,700 motor dealers and over 6,500 sales professionals. Our goal is to create a successful marketplace for both consumers and the motor dealer industry.

Salesperson licensing has been mandatory in BC since June 1, 2004. To date over 6,500 people have completed the application process and currently hold a valid salesperson licence issued by the Vehicle Sales Authority (VSA).

The underlying objective of the MDC is to increase consumer protection and confidence in dealing with licensed motor dealers.
